If you begin to feel boring at Thailand as you have travelled all destinations as Pattaya, Phuket, Chiangmai or Koh Samui, let's try visiting Hua Hin to enjoy more experiences of this country. This is a beautiful peaceful beach which is not crowded and very lovely.
Lying about 200 km to the south of Bangkok, Hua Hin is one of the top beach resort towns of Thailand, in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. Hua Hin used to be a settlement of Thai Royal, a prosperous town with many historical heritage sites. It has long beach stretching 5km with white sand, fresh blue water. The terrain is abundant with beaches, mountains, hills, caves, streams, waterfalls, etc offering picturesque landscapes. It has population of more than 80,000 in the total area of 911 square kilometers and is one of the eight amphoes of the province.
Hua Hin used to be the inhabitance of a group of farmers after their agricultural land was hit by severe drought in 1834. They settled in a small village with bright white sand and rows of rocks along the beach, named it Samo Riang (meant rows of rocks). In 1921, a palace was built here by Prince Purachatra and it became the residence of Bhumibol Adulyadej. Then a member of the royal family built a group of palaces called Sukaves and named the beach next to the palace “Hua Hin”. In 1932 it was part of Pran Buri district and was a separate district of Prachuap Khiri Khan in 1949. Hua Hin became the first beach resort after a railway was laid in the 1920s to connect the district with Bangkok and King Rama VII founded his summer retreat in the area called “Far from Worries”.
