If you begin to feel boring at Thailand as you have travelled all destinations as Pattaya, Phuket, Chiangmai or Koh Samui, let's try visiting Hua Hin to enjoy more experiences of this country. This is a beautiful peaceful beach which is not crowded and very lovely.

Lying about 200 km to the south of Bangkok, Hua Hin is one of the top beach resort towns of Thailand, in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula. Hua Hin used to be a settlement of Thai Royal, a prosperous town with many historical heritage sites. It has long beach stretching 5km with white sand, fresh blue water. The terrain is abundant with beaches, mountains, hills, caves, streams, waterfalls, etc offering picturesque landscapes. It has population of more than 80,000 in the total area of 911 square kilometers and is one of the eight amphoes of the province.

Hua Hin used to be the inhabitance of a group of farmers after their agricultural land was hit by severe drought in 1834. They settled in a small village with bright white sand and rows of rocks along the beach, named it Samo Riang (meant rows of rocks). In 1921, a palace was built here by Prince Purachatra and it became the residence of Bhumibol Adulyadej. Then a member of the royal family built a group of palaces called Sukaves and named the beach next to the palace “Hua Hin”. In 1932 it was part of Pran Buri district and was a separate district of Prachuap Khiri Khan in 1949. Hua Hin became the first beach resort after a railway was laid in the 1920s to connect the district with Bangkok and King Rama VII founded his summer retreat in the area called “Far from Worries”.

Hua Hin has been one of the most famous weekend gateway destinations for the residents here with beautiful white sand beach, fresh air, lively night market, many seaside restaurants, numerous beach activities as well as inland activities. Many interesting attractions includes Hua Hin Beach, Hua Hin Railway Station, Nighly Street Market – a popular shopping place with native-style seafood, Hin Lek Fai Hill, Tao Hill, Wat Huay Mongkol, Plearnwan, Butterfly Garden with various species of butterflies, orchids, birds, flowers and herbal plants; etc. It is an interesting attraction with a large number of exciting activities as fishing, trekking, cycling, walking, diving, elephant camping, snorkeling, cooking courses, massage and golf, which tourists can choose to join in. This is a popular for shopping with Cicada Market, a charming market hidden under the big old trees offering art handicrafts and taylors. Many famous local products are offered here as shirts, wraps, handkerchiefs, hand-woven cotton and traditional duster.

There are three events established in Hua Hin including Thailand’s International Kite Festival (March, April and May) with many kinds of kites displayed; Hua Hin Jazz Festival (June) with a lot of Thailand and world jazz musicians; and Hua Hin Vintage Car Rally launched in 2012 with interesting activities.
